Why the choice matters less than people think
Both registries accept measured soil carbon under their land methodologies. The real differences sit in the fine print: minimum cores per stratum, buffer percentages and the timeline for a restatement.
We issue through both, plus Puro.earth, and pick per project based on the buyer and the soil.
Where they differ
Sampling density, buffer share and restatement timelines. One wants more cores up front; the other holds more tonnes back.

Pick the registry your buyer's auditor already trusts. The rest is paperwork.
How we decide
Three questions per project.
- Who is the buyer and which registry do their auditors already know?
- How uniform is the soil, and therefore how many cores does each registry demand?
- How fast can a restatement clear if a field fails a pass?
What to tell your growers
Tell them the registry name, the buffer share and the restatement rule before they sign. Nobody likes learning about a buffer from a payout statement.
