The story

From one co-op in Hungary to eleven countries

Canopis started in 2022 with 180 growers in the Danube Lowlands and a problem that was not technical. Two earlier programmes had paid late or not at all, and the co-op wanted every number traceable before anyone talked about money.

So we built the measurement first. Stratified sampling, a locked baseline with the registry, and quarterly satellite passes that growers could see in their own dashboard. The first credits issued fourteen months later, and the payout landed in thirty days.

“We decided the method was the product. Everything else is a dashboard on top of it.”

Femke de Vries, co-founder

Today the same method runs across row crops, pasture, agroforestry and vineyards in eleven countries, with three registries and fourteen corporate buyers. The 2025 Impact Report publishes every field, including the ones that did not move.
